Wedding Adam & Lindsay | Fort Langley Wedding Photographer

It doesn’t happen very often that we get to congratulate the couple on their marriage the first time we see them in the morning. But with Adam & Lindsay we did. They actually got married at the LDS temple very early Friday morning with only a couple of close friends and family present. You might think that this made the ring ceremony in the afternoon less special, but that was definitely not true. We haven’t seen a groom yet that was so touched seeing his beautiful bride walk down the aisle. From their engagement session a couple of weeks ago we knew that these guys are truly meant to be, and on their wedding day we got to witness their deep love for each other again! It was great to be part of their special day.

Engagement Yvonne & Jake | Duncan Wedding Photographer

This lovely couple is getting married at the end of the year and we shot their engagement photos about a week ago at the Butter Church in Duncan. It was great to hear a little bit about their story and their plans for the future and it was a lot of fun to capture their love in photos. Just wanted to share a few favourites from their session.

Featured Wedding Planner: Lexie from Blueprint Events

Lexie Boekenkruger is the owner of Blueprint Events, an event planning business located in Nanaimo. She is very passionate about wedding planning and we highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding! We asked her some questions about her business, and why couples should consider hiring a professional to plan their wedding. We hope you’ll enjoy reading the interview!

Q. Why did you start your business?
A. I have always had a strong passion and talent for special events and weddings, and a true desire to work with people. I have been involved in planning and coordinating a variety of events over the last 10 years and I decided to formalize my training with a Certificate in Event Management at Vancouver Island University and start my own company doing what I love. Blueprint Events represents my own personal passion and style, and my commitment to producing one-of-a-kind events for my clients.

Q. What do you like best about your job?
A. I love working with people and helping make their events special and memorable. I love weddings! They are such a beautiful occasion, so full of love and happiness. I plan all kinds of events but weddings are definitely my favourite.

Q. What type of wedding planning do you specialize in?
A. I love planning a wedding from start to finish, being involved in all aspects of the planning and helping a couple make their wedding perfect.
However, I find that a lot of couples like to do most of the planning themselves and are just looking for someone to come in and take care of everything on the day of their wedding so they can relax and enjoy their day. That is where my Day of Coordination package is perfect and very affordable!

Q. Why should couples hire a wedding planner?
A. Your special day goes by so fast, it is so important to be able to enjoy it instead of worrying about all the details. A Wedding Planner can help you with that! Wedding Planners can also help with budget management and creation, referral to quality vendors, advice on etiquette, design advice, negotiating with vendors , creation of itineraries and schedules and so much more!

Q. What is your favourite part of a wedding?
A. The ceremony. I love seeing the emotion on the couples faces when they see each other for the first time and watching two people in love say their vows.

Q. Do you have a favourite wedding planning memory?
A. Each wedding is so unique they all have a great moment or memory for me, it would be too hard to pick just one!

Q. What do you feel is the most important element of a wedding?
A. Well that depends on the couple and what is important to them, but I feel photography is one of the most important elements of a wedding as it captures the memories and moments of your special day for you to keep forever!

Q. Are there any wedding planning tips you’d like to share?
A. Make sure you take time to relax and enjoy your big day. Make lists and schedules to help you stay on track and if you start to feel overwhelmed, step back and remember what is really important… You are marrying the person you love!
